Trying to Stay Sane for the Day?

Here are some of the things I would strive to do every day to help me stay in a calm and peaceful state of mind throughout the day.

How my Ideal day progresses…

Wake up like it’s your last day on Earth

Always start the day with 6-8 oz. of water. I try to remember to put raisins in my water the night before.

Breathing Exercises & Stretching

~ 15 mins.

Box Breathing or Whim Hoff with some light stretching.

Affirmations & Gratitudes

~ 60 - 120 mins.

For this one, I have a playlist I use for my Affirmations which starts with Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 (google the psychological benefits), and then it transitions to morning Affirmations.

While I am listening to the Concerto, I will write my daily morning Gratitudes in my morning journal. I started with 3 Gratitudes each morning, and have worked up to 7 each morning now.

Review & Visualize the Day Ahead

~15 - 30 mins.

My schedule; Goals (3) for the day; My Focus for the Day; my Work & Personal Task List; What I want-to / have-to do; research/learning topics

Morning Meditation

~30 -60 mins.

Sometimes this is paired with my Affirmations playlist, and other times it is just sitting in stillness (all depends on the feel of the day).

Morning Walk/Run/Yoga

~ 30 - 60 mins.

Ideally I try to do 30 mins of a run and then 30 mins of yoga

Mindfulness Teeth brushing & shower

Trying to stay Present (in the Moment) while brushing my teeth and showering.

During the Day

As I am able to during the daily route, I try to fit in…

Meditation

5 - 10 mins.

on your own OR use an App

Sound / Music Therapy

~15 mins

whatever will make you feel better. A playlist or frequency based sound therapy (Hz)

Journaling

Pick a topic, or a type of Journaling, and run with it…

Review how your Day went & Prepare for Tomorrow

Ideally with a cup of tea and some classical music…

3 Things you are Grateful for Today

Something good that happened today?

Person-of-YOUR-Day

Who did something good for you today?

What did you learn today?

Something new that you learned Today. I try to get 3 new things a day.

Review my UPs & DOWNs for the Day

What went well?

What do I need to work on?

What progress did I make?

What TRIGGERED me?

Were my reactions good or bad throughout the day?

Review Tomorrow

Schedule, To Dos, etc.

Try to schedule some YOU-Time

Meditate & Sound Therapy to Fall Asleep

I have a Night-time playlist for this too.

There is no perfect day, and very rarely is it ideal. But as a Goal or Benchmark, it works for me.
